What can I say? The dark stain is really growing on me. We still seem to be having the odd problem with chemical reactions - I expect that we're not allowing the stain to dry sufficiently before we apply the first coat of varnish. Nun the less our final product is what counts, and I'm really thrilled.

These floors had, what looked like really new herringboned cord carpets glued to them. We way under quoted to remove the glue.

This heap of glue was the result of the lounge and passage. It took 28 man hours and 18 sheets of 24 grit sandpaper to remove.

It was all well worth the effort. For some reason the pictures don't do this floor justice. For one thing, this picture makes the floor look very light. What it does do however........ next picture

is show that you are still able to see the woods grain etc. even though the overall effect is very dark. These floors have a very warm feel to them.
